"Good thing he hung up because he was with people": Cuban Uber drives the most surreal conversation during a trip

A Cuban Uber driver goes viral after being recorded arguing with his wife and apologizing to passengers, combining humor and spontaneity in a video that is taking TikTok by storm.

What started as a regular Uber ride turned into an authentic TikTok show. A Cuban driver was filmed arguing with his wife over the phone, and the scene—both intense and amusing—quickly went viral. Amid shouts, memorable phrases, and an unexpected "sorry" directed at the passengers after the argument, the video has already secured a spot among the week's favorites.

“I’ll send whatever I feel like to my... to my son, you’re nobody to tell me what to do,” the visibly annoyed driver can be heard saying. But the best part comes next: he hangs up, takes a breath, and casually adds, “you’re going to drive me crazy,” still referring to the woman, only to quickly change his tone and address the passengers with a calm “excuse me.” In seconds, he shifted from anger to being a gentleman, and that contrast sparked laughter from half of TikTok.

The video was shared by the user @la_dura_de_sanleopoldo4, and the comments quickly turned the moment into a comedy festival. “Rude but polite,” wrote one. “This is how I pay for Uber with entertainment included,” said another. And the driver’s own phrase —“I only hung up because I was with people”— has already become a national meme.

It seems that the situation even amused the main character. In the comments, someone identified as the driver himself confirmed with laughter: "I'm the one from Uber, I separated, and I'm just sitting in the car, but I sent the shaver to my son." With that, he won over the audience, who agreed that he deserved "five stars and a tip" for providing the most entertaining ride of the month.

More than just a simple discussion, the video is a gem of Cuban humor: spontaneous, exaggerated, and genuine. Because only a Cuban can go from a fight to an apology in ten seconds... and on top of that, make it go viral.
