The death of a young nursing student has shaken Santiago de Cuba and left family, friends, and neighbors on edge as they demand clarification and justice regarding an incident surrounded by uncertainty and unconfirmed reports.

The deceased was identified as Yohanne Zamora Gerez, 19 years old, a resident of the Biemba neighborhood in the Los Pinos area.

I was studying Nursing, a degree that I combined with freelance work in hair extensions and implants, an activity for which I was well-known among friends and clients.

According to unofficial reports circulating among acquaintances, there is talk of an alleged drug overdose that may have been introduced into their drink. These same reports place the incident near Paseo Martí.

So far, the authorities have not released official information to confirm or dismiss that hypothesis, which means the true cause of death remains under investigation and everything that has emerged remains in the realm of speculation.

The news, reported by independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta on Facebook, sparked a wave of reactions on social media, highlighting the impact of the loss of a young person who "dreamed of saving lives."

In the comments on the post, messages of shock, demands for justice, and calls for a thorough investigation are repeated.

An emigrant lamented the loss of a boy "who had talent and a bright future" and warned that "drugs kill."

Another internet user requested that "authorities work carefully to eliminate the drugs that affect society."

Several users went further and questioned whether it was a possible crime, demanding that "justice is served" and that the "real cause of this death be thoroughly investigated."

"Who else agrees with me that it was a murder? I hope justice is served," a young woman pleaded.

"I didn't know him, but whoever did that was motivated by envy," stated a user.

A health promoter wrote: "My dear friend… I hope the real cause of this death, which has left us all uncomforted, is thoroughly investigated."

A shepherdess, who suffered the loss of a child, also demanded justice. "No one should have to put drugs in their drink. Young people, open your eyes. And do not trust friends," she warned.

The death of Yohanne reignites concerns about the risks associated with the consumption and handling of substances, as well as the need for transparent clarification of the fatalities.

As the city bids farewell and stands with his family, the key demand is clear: to know the truth about what happened.
