The price of the United States dollar opened this Sunday, February 1, at 485 Cuban pesos (CUP), according to the rate published by elTOQUE.

The USD has maintained its value for at least three days. The North American currency continues to be the primary reference for informal transactions and remittances, showing no changes in its exchange rate against the CUP.

On its part, the euro rose from 530 to 540 CUP, an increase of 10 pesos compared to the previous day.

The European currency solidifies its position as the most expensive in the Cuban parallel market, driven by its limited circulation and the preference of many citizens who have family ties abroad, especially in the old continent.

Exchange Rate Evolution

Meanwhile, the freely convertible currency (MLC) also experienced an increase, rising from 400 to 410 CUP. Despite the slight rise, it remains a key reference for purchases in state stores.
