El Vedado is trying to return to normalcy after severe floods turned its streets into real rivers during the night on Saturday.
Residents have shared shocking images on social media of areas in the well-known Havana neighborhood completely covered by water.

, caused by a cold front hitting the western region since January 31, have impacted the low-lying areas of the Havana coastline, where waves exceeded four meters in height.
Red Cross and Civil Defense teams evacuated dozens of vulnerable individuals as winds reached gusts of up to 82 kilometers per hour, according to data from the Meteorology Institute.
On Sunday afternoon, the began cleanup operations in flooded basements and cisterns.
"Excellent, they came to extract the salty and contaminated water from the cisterns, but it’s a pity that the sea returned in the late afternoon and evening," said a resident of El Vedado.
No victims were reported, but the material damage was significant, and the images of the flooded streets once again highlighted the vulnerability of the Havana coastline to such phenomena.
