A young Cuban appeared visibly desperate and nervous in a video posted on TikTok, where she expressed her fear about the serious situation facing the country, marked by prolonged blackouts, fuel shortages, and the uncertainty generated by recent statements from the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel.

In the video shared on the account @gelylaflaki, the young woman confessed to feeling "blocked" emotionally by what is happening in Cuba and by what she fears may worsen in the coming days. Her words reflect the anguish of thousands of citizens living on the island amid an increasingly deepening energy crisis.

"I am scared by everything that is happening here in my country. Long blackouts are coming; it was already announced in the news during a conference held by our president," said the young woman, with evident nervousness and a shaky voice.

The Cuban woman also expressed fear that the government will further limit communications and access to the internet, a recurring concern among citizens after years of restrictions and information blackouts.

"I don't know if the little money I've mentioned here on this platform should be transferred completely, just in case they cut off our internet too. This is crazy," he stated.

In his testimony, he also recounted the enormous difficulties in obtaining fuel, even for basic needs. "I want to get gasoline, but I can't manage to find it. The lines are huge. I only want gasoline to be able to power the fans, the lamps, all those little things," he explained, referring to the blackouts that force many Cubans to rely on makeshift solutions to survive the heat and darkness.

The video concludes with a moment of deep emotional intensity, in which the young woman confesses to being in a state of extreme nervousness. “I swear, I’m getting goosebumps and everything. I’m in such a state of nerves that I don’t know…,” she says before almost breaking down in tears and asking God for “mercy” and strength to “endure whatever comes.”

Díaz-Canel's statements on the energy crisis, which the regime itself has acknowledged as serious, have heightened fear and uncertainty among the population, which is already enduring blackouts lasting more than 10 to 12 hours daily in several provinces, in addition to a chronic shortage of food, medicine, and fuel.

The testimony of this young Cuban adds to the thousands of messages circulating on social media, where citizens of the island express their fatigue, desperation, and fear in the face of a situation that many consider unsustainable.
