A traveler identified as Melissa Pérez reported on Facebook the conditions of her journey from Santiago de Cuba to Havana, a trip that, according to her account, lasted nearly 20 hours due to repeated breakdowns of the bus.
The post was shared this Sunday in the group "Chartered Buses," where it was reported that the vehicle departed the day before at 2:00 PM and was expected to arrive at the Villa Nueva terminal around 6:00 AM.
However, by the morning hours, they had still not reached their final destination.
According to their report, the bus stopped six times due to mechanical issues during the early morning hours.
In addition to the technical issues, the passenger described the condition of the vehicle as deplorable, with the presence of cockroaches, leaks in one of the air conditioning systems, and high temperatures inside.
I am outraged because it is 17 thousand pesos, not one or two.”
The user questioned why, before embarking on long-distance trips, a thorough inspection of the vehicle is not prioritized, especially considering that children and adults are onboard.
The complaint also included criticisms of the agents who promote these types of services and who, as stated, provide good references when selling tickets, despite the actual conditions of the transportation.
The testimony once again highlights the difficulties faced by passengers on interprovincial routes within Cuba, where the deterioration of the vehicle fleet and the shortage of spare parts often lead to delays and cancellations.
After the regime suspended most of the transportation between the provinces, the mobility of people fell into the hands of the private sector, which often does not provide the best conditions.
