The activist Lilian Tintori, wife of opposition leader Leopoldo López, reported this Friday the looting and destruction of her home in Caracas, an action she attributed to an order from the acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.
In a video posted on social media, the woman stated that several people entered the family residence, located in the east of the Venezuelan capital, and took all the items that were inside.
“Delcy Rodríguez ordered to enter, empty it, steal it, and knock it down,” Tintori affirmed in the message shared on Instagram.
The activist recounted that those who entered the home did so "violently" and removed personal belongings, photographs, books, and furniture, in addition to causing structural damage inside the house.
According to their report, the family's pets also went missing.
“They took our two dogs, and we don’t know where they are; we don’t know if they are alive or dead. They also took our parrots that were still there,” he stated.
Tintori insisted that the house was completely emptied and destroyed on the inside.
“They entered the house, stole everything, completely emptied it out, and toppled the house. The walls inside are destroyed,” he said.
The activist demanded the return of the property and the cessation of what she described as persecution against her family.
Leopoldo López is one of the best-known opposition leaders in Venezuela and the founder of the Voluntad Popular party. His family has reported several instances of harassment against their home and relatives.
The incident occurs amid political tensions in the country following the capture of former ruler Nicolás Maduro on January 3, 2026, and the subsequent appointment of Delcy Rodríguez as acting president to ensure the institutional continuity of the Venezuelan state.
In recent weeks, opposition leaders have also reported property confiscations and raids against individuals linked to the Venezuelan opposition movement.
