The first shipment of humanitarian aid linked to the "Nuestra América" Flotilla initiative arrived in Cuba in recent hours, transported by air, according to images shared by the official profile Naturaleza Secreta on social media.

The photographs show boxes with supplies marked with flags from various European countries. The government-affiliated outlet Naturaleza Secreta indicated that the shipment arrived "from Italy."

The shipment is part of an international campaign driven by organizations and activists advocating for the delivery of aid to Cuba.

The initiative had previously announced the delivery of supplies as part of the "Nuestra América" Flotilla, promoted by a coalition of social movements, political figures, and international leftist activists, as revealed when the international project aimed at providing aid to Cuba was presented. According to its organizers, the goal is to transport food, medicine, and other basic supplies to the island.

“The Our America Caravan is already underway. Today, the first delegation departs for Cuba, carrying critical humanitarian aid for the people of the island,” they stated in a statement released on social media, where they also reported on the shipment of the first humanitarian aid cargo.

Among the figures supporting the initiative are American activist David Adler, former British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, and Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.

The arrival of this aid comes amid a crisis in Cuba, characterized by prolonged blackouts, fuel shortages, and difficulties in accessing basic products and health services.
