Fatality was against Rancel Artiles, a 33-year-old Cuban father who lost his life last week in a tragic traffic accident in Miami-Dade, after suffering a heart attack while driving.
The tragic event occurred around 6:10 a.m. on November 20, when Artiles was driving on NW 36th Street, near NW 72nd Avenue (Milam Dairy Rd).
The young man suffered a heart attack and as a result, caused a vehicular accident that led to his death, revealed the journalist from Univision Javier Díaz this Wednesday on his social media.
According to information from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office to local media, Artiles crashed his car into another vehicle and then into a tree, after which he was urgently taken to a hospital, where he passed away.
The young Cuban left behind a 10-year-old son and his sick mother in Cuba, according to sources close to the family.
Artiles had arrived in the United States only four years ago, as part of the exodus of thousands of citizens from the island, "in search of a better future for himself and those he left in Cuba," Díaz emphasized in his Facebook post.
Friends of the victim have requested help to repatriate his body, as he has no family in the U.S. To this end, they opened an account on the GoFundMe platform to raise funds that will allow him to be taken back to his homeland so that his mother, son, and other family members can say their final goodbye.
"Today we are saddened to say goodbye to Rancel Artiles, our beloved 'El Pincho', a friend who left deep marks on each of us," wrote Dorent Durán, the organizer of the fundraising from Miami, Florida.
He emphasized the purpose that drove Artiles to emigrate to the U.S. and stated that "his greatest dream" was to return to his country to see his mother and his son again, "to embrace them and share everything he had achieved."
"His departure has taken us by surprise, catching us off guard and leaving a huge void among all his friends, who loved him deeply," he lamented. "Our only wish now is for his family to be able to give him the final farewell he deserves. That’s why we turn to the solidarity of those who can contribute something to make his return home, to his loved ones, possible."
So far, the donation campaign has raised $7,159, which is 90% of the amount set to cover funeral expenses and the repatriation of the body to Cuba.
Last week, another young Cuban father also passed away in a traffic accident in the state of Virginia.
A collision on Interstate 95 took the life of Diego Murgia Ramos, 23 years old, who was working hard to support his family in the United States.
In the midst of deep sorrow over the loss, their loved ones requested assistance to raise the necessary funds to repatriate the body and give it a dignified burial.
