A woman lost her life and another person was injured in a tragic traffic accident that occurred this Monday on the Malecón in Havana.
Social media users reported a collision between a car and a truck on Monday morning while traveling along the section of the seawall near the Anti-Imperialist Tribune.

As a result of the collision, a woman in the car died, while another person sustained injuries. According to a post by Alex Ríos Cruz on Facebook, the vehicles were carrying workers from Artex and Cultura.
An internet user identified as Yordankis Alonso revealed that the deceased was his cousin. He also explained that the driver of the car lost control on the curve in that area and crossed into the opposite lane, where the vehicle was struck by the white truck. The impact occurred on the passenger side, where his relative was traveling.
"That stretch has been fatal for many families in recent years," he lamented.
In a comment on another post, a man explained that the car, from the brand Hyundai, experienced “a malfunction in the steering and crossed in front of the truck,” and asserted that the expert had determined there was no speeding involved.
Another person pointed out that almost every week an accident occurs in that area and questioned whether drivers are not paying attention to the traffic signs.
Both the car and the truck involved in the crash sustained severe damage.
The fatal accident occurred on a stretch of the avenue, near the United States Embassy, where high traffic volume converges. According to residents and witnesses, traffic rule violations are common in that area.
In December, a collision between two vehicles in that same area resulted in several injuries, including a girl.
