The Cuban reggaeton artist Abel Díaz Rodríguez, known artistically as El Chulo, sparked new speculation among his followers after posting a story on Instagram that suggests he may be in Mexico, despite officially still being in the custody of immigration authorities in the United States.
In the post, the artist wrote: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Next Friday, new music. Thank you, MEXICO, for giving my life and career a new opportunity. From here, we will start from scratch, and from here, we will successfully build a new story. GOD is good," accompanied by a praying hands emoji.
The message was interpreted by many of his followers as a hint that he might have been released from prison and would be starting a new chapter outside the United States, possibly in Mexican territory.
However, so far there has been no official confirmation that the reggaeton artist has been released or transferred. The singer was arrested on January 22, and according to previous reports, he remains in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while his immigration situation in the country is being decided.
The case has been surrounded by controversy. Reports from authorities have mentioned alleged connections between the artist and the Latin Kings gang, an accusation that El Chulo has publicly denied, insisting that he has no relationship with that criminal organization.
The situation of the reggaeton artist has sparked a broad debate within the Cuban community in South Florida, particularly among his followers in Miami, a city where he developed much of his musical career in recent years.
Meanwhile, the recent social media posts are fueling uncertainty about his whereabouts and artistic future, just as he announces the release of new music this Friday.
In recent hours, several photographs have also begun circulating on social media, allegedly showing El Chulo posing with fans in Mexico. Although these images have heightened speculation about his possible presence in the country, there is no official confirmation regarding when or under what circumstances they were taken.
