The Cuban reggaeton artist Yosvany Sierra Hernández, known professionally as Chocolate MC, broke his silence from prison to speak about the detention of his colleague El Chulo, who remains in the custody of ICE in the United States.
In a live broadcast with his sister Isis and content creator Polarih, Chocolate sent a message of support to the singer, whose real name is Abel Díaz Rodríguez.
“Abelito is good, everything is going to turn out fine for him,” said the reggaeton artist, despite the differences he has had with El Chulo in recent months. “I’m not going to make fun of anyone who comes out of prison. Being in prison is sad.”
During the live session, Chocolate confessed that he couldn't help but laugh upon hearing in the news the accusations facing El Chulo regarding alleged ties to the criminal gang Latin Kings, denying that the artist has any connection to criminal groups.
“We laugh at everything they are trying to impose on El Chulo. He is not a gangster. If you want to fire someone, fire Donald Trump, but he is not involved in any gangs. He is solid. Abelito is one of the best. I love him for life. I am praying for him.”, said Chocolate, referring to the immigration policies of the current U.S. president.
The message from Chocolate arrives shortly after El Chulo reported on the harsh conditions he faces in the detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz”, where he stated that the detainees can barely sleep and do not receive medicine or adequate medical care.
Both artists are facing complex legal processes, Chocolate for multiple charges in Miami-Dade and El Chulo for his immigration situation.
