The Cuban reggaeton artist Abel Díaz Rodríguez, known artistically as El Chulo, has shown signs of musical activity again following his recent deportation, announcing from Mexico the release of new music for his fans.
The artist shared a message on social media announcing the release of his upcoming song. "This Friday we’ll drop 'La Mamá de Toto', new music on the way, we're making it real from Mexico to the whole world," he wrote.
The announcement comes shortly after the singer sparked conversation among his followers by posting a message on Instagram that hinted at a new chapter in his life outside the United States following his deportation.
"Что не убивает, делает тебя сильнее. Следующая пятница новая музыка, спасибо Мексике за то, что дала новую возможность моей жизни и карьере. Отсюда мы начнем с нуля и отсюда мы успешно построим новую историю," the artist expressed on his social media.
The publication fueled speculation about his whereabouts. El Chulo was arrested on January 22 in the United States and is currently in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while his immigration status is being assessed.
The case of the singer has been surrounded by controversy. Reports from authorities mentioned alleged ties to the Latin Kings gang, an accusation that the artist himself has publicly denied. So far, the reggaeton artist has not spoken about the circumstances of his deportation; he has only referred to his presence in Mexico.
In recent years, El Chulo developed a significant part of his music career in Miami, where he managed to establish a substantial following within the Cuban community.
Now, with the announcement of the song "La Mamá de Toto," the reggaeton artist seems ready to embark on a new artistic phase from Mexico after being deported, betting on remaining active in urban music and keeping in touch with his audience.
