The United States Embassy in Cuba publicly demanded this Thursday the release of the creators of the digital project El4tico, detained in Holguín for over a month.

The diplomatic mission threatened to deny entry to the U.S. for regime officials who repress dissenters and opponents in Cuba. The message was posted on the official account @USEmbCuba in response to the harassment faced by a young Cuban activist.

The tweet emerged after the harassment experienced by Anna Bensi, a 21-year-old activist with nearly 100,000 followers on Facebook, whose mother, Caridad Silvente, was summoned for questioning by State Security agents without respecting the minimum legal notice period of 72 hours. They threatened her with penalties of up to five years in prison and house arrest.

The Embassy warned that it will request the Under Secretary of State, nicknamed 'QuitaVisas', to prevent entry to the United States for any regime official who abuses the citizenry, and urged the public to report them.

"We have not had the pleasure of meeting Anna Bensi or her mother, but why are the authorities of the regime summoning them? Why are they threatening them? We will ask our 'Visa Remover' @DeputySecState to ensure that those in the regime who abuse citizens can never enter the United States. Denounce them! By the way, where are the people from #El4tico? Release them!" says the text from the Embassy on X.

The case of the young people from El4tico has generated increasing international pressure. The Holguín Prosecutor's Office maintains provisional detention of the creators of the digital project, despite numerous reports and calls for their release.

Kamil de El4tico sent a message from prison urging his followers not to give up in the fight for his release.

Solidarity with the youth has also been expressed in the cultural sphere. Leoni Torres defended Anna Bensi and publicly criticized the Cuban regime for the harassment of the activist and her family.

At a grassroots level, Cubans from all over the world are collecting signatures to demand the freedom of the young people from El4tico, as the case continues to attract international media attention.

The issue had already made the front page of the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, highlighting the global impact of the complaint.
