A young Cuban reported this Saturday that he was the victim of a armed robbery on the road to Managua, near the La Chorrera bridge, in the municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, south of Havana.
The affected individual posted the alert in the public Facebook group Managua, Cuba, where they provided detailed information about the attack and requested the community to share the information to prevent further victims.
"Last night I was the victim of an assault on the road from Managua, specifically at the height of the La Chorrera bridge," wrote the young man, who accompanied the post with photographs of his injuries to his hands and body, as well as the damage suffered by his motorcycle.
According to his account, two individuals on a black motorcycle with yellow and white stripes intercepted him. "The motorcycle had white front lights and yellow high beams," he specified, so that other residents could identify the assailants.
"The assailants are armed with firearms, so extreme caution is advised," warned the victim, who also alerted: "If you see a motorcycle with these characteristics following you, stop in a safe place or take measures to avoid being intercepted."
During the assault, the criminals struck him from behind. Despite the violence of the attack, the young man managed to recover his motorcycle. "They hit me from behind, but thanks to God and the support I received, I was able to get the bike back," he stated.
Increasingly frequent assaults
The incident adds to a series of armed robberies that have shaken various provinces of the country in recent months. On Thursday, armed hooded men assaulted two women in Pueblo Nuevo Norte, Cárdenas, Matanzas, stealing their cell phones, chargers, and personal documents; one suspect was arrested.
On March 17, seven hooded men on horseback assaulted an agricultural cooperative in San José de los Ramos, in the Matanzas municipality of Colón, firing shots into the air and stealing nine cattle. Four suspects were arrested in connection with this case.
In January, two brothers were assaulted with firearms in Santo Domingo, Villa Clara. In this incident, the assailants fired shots into the air and stole a gold bracelet along with a rented car containing personal documents.
In February, the blind retiree Pablo Vega passed away in Cárdenas after being beaten and robbed while waiting in line at a bank to collect 2,800 pesos intended for purchasing medication.
The pattern of two individuals on a motorcycle intercepting their victims on stretches of road is one of the most reported in citizen complaints.
Similar cases have been reported in Artemisa, Las Tunas, and Havana during 2025, which shows that this trend has spread throughout the country.
Cuba is experiencing a deep economic crisis that has triggered rising crime rates. In the face of perceived impunity and the lack of effective official channels, social media has become the primary mechanism for community alert.
"Please share this information to alert others. Blessings to everyone and take care," concluded the post by the victim of the assault in Managua.
