The regime celebrates at the 26th of July headquarters in Ciego de Ávila amid a blackout

The Cuban regime is celebrating in Ciego de Ávila the headquarters of July 26, ignoring blackouts and shortages. The propaganda stands in stark contrast to the scarcity of water and food faced by the local population.

Amid a power outage, the Cuban regime deployed its propaganda apparatus to celebrate in Ciego de Ávila the hosting of the official festivities on July 26.

A caravan of police motorcycles, Ladas sounding their horns, and people waving flags from atop a truck was the regime's latest grotesque display of propaganda, while the city was plunged into darkness due to the blackout.

The video, sent by a neighbor to CiberCuba, reflects the parallel reality in which the Cuban government operates. The people, indifferent to the ridiculous propaganda display, hardly react to the caravan, which seems more like an insult to the reality that Cubans must face daily.

“Congratulations to Ciego de Ávila for hosting the July 26 celebration! It has earned this with hard work, perseverance, and the talent of its people. I embrace the people of Sancti Spíritus and Guantánamo, who have also excelled amidst very challenging situations. May their examples be replicated throughout Cuba,” wrote the leader Miguel Díaz-Canel on X on Friday.

According to the official press, Ciego de Ávila "maintains stability in fulfilling the main tasks in economic, political, and social spheres," as well as promoting "food production programs, which have enabled the achievement of key productivity indicators."

However, despite the propaganda, the people of Avila endure blackouts lasting almost 20 hours, access bread according to the rationing system on alternate days due to a shortage of flour, and they barely receive 280 liters of water per second, when at least 600 are needed to meet the basic needs of the population.
