Accident in Las Tunas: Three vehicles collide at the Becerra curve heading to Puerto Padre



An accident in Las Tunas involves three vehicles, leaving 12 injured individuals who are receiving medical attention without any vital risk. The incident occurred in a hazardous section due to poor conditions and inadequate lighting.

A serious traffic accident that occurred Thursday night in the province of Las Tunas left twelve people injured, local authorities have confirmed.

The journalist Orlando Cruz Vázquez reported that the incident occurred at kilometer eight of the road leading to Puerto Padre, near the well-known Becerra curve.

According to preliminary reports, three vehicles were involved in the incident: a tractor-trailer, a private truck with several passengers, and a modern car of the brand MG.

The truck would have hit one of the rear wheels of the trailer while both vehicles were crossing each other in opposite directions, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the car that was traveling behind the trailer.

The twelve injured individuals were taken to the provincial hospital Dr. Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, in the city of Las Tunas, where they are receiving medical care.

Dr. Idalmis Thaimí Ramos Díaz reported that none of the patients are in life-threatening condition and that they remain under observation while additional clinical tests are being conducted.

Traffic authorities are investigating the causes of the accident, which occurred in a section considered hazardous due to the deterioration of the pavement and insufficient lighting. The local government has stated that an updated report on the condition of the injured will be provided in the coming hours.
